**The core responsibilities of the position include**

Understand and provide accurate interpretation of the metallurgical microstructures of aluminium and its alloys, relevant to the Hulamin alloy and product portfolio, and be able to identify the alloy type (s) from the observed microstructure.

Provide support to the production areas through metallographic analysis of in-process metal defects and participate in the problem-solving task teams across the plant.

Provide routine standard testing for metal release and general metallurgical evaluations.

Develop skills and expert usage of the metal testing equipment and procedures such as PODFA, LiMCA, SEM, ECP, SWAAT, ZRA, Image Analysis etc.

Establish and maintain updated laboratory and testing procedures (SOP’s, SP’S etc).

Assist with the training of the trainee metallurgical technicians, on an ongoing basis

**The core requirements of this position include**:
S4, BTech in Metallurgical Engineering or BSC Degree in Metallurgy

2 - 3 years' experience in the metallographic laboratory environment.

Experience in analyzing PODFA and knowledge of aluminium and its alloys will be an advantage

Good communication and organization skills to function effectively across all departments and levels, where there are metallurgical issues to be resolved.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to determine causes of metal defects, with an objective to provide useful data to the customer.

Ability to function across various laboratory and manufacturing teams, especially during problem solving exercises.

Must have good written, verbal communication and presentation skills to provide feedback across various levels.
