Infrastructure Planning & Logistics Branch is looking for a proactive, responsive and service-orientated individual to join us as our Logistics Officer.
Reporting to the Stores Supervisor, this position will play a key role in the provision of services to support operations through the delivery of Logistics, Stores, and Fleet services as a key part of the Supply Chain & Logistics team
As the Logistics Officer, you will:
- Unload, receive, scan and check goods against orders including inspecting goods for damages
- Move goods around the store including moving heavy pallets and goods using a forklift
- Stock shelves including stacking bulky goods in a safe manner
- Record movements of goods including packing and sending orders to customers
- Conduct stock counts and identify/report discrepancies and assist with investigations of inventories.
- Coordinate and carrying out fleet support related tasks like organising ad hoc repair including liaising with the vehicle or plant user and service providers.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining fleet information systems.
- Provide input to the development of an optimised stores, fleet, vehicle plant & equipment strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide input to optimising maximum and minimum stores inventories & quantities working with the Stores Supervisor.
To succeed, you will need to have:
- Hold appropriate licences such as code 10 Licence and Forklift
- Broad knowledge and experience in all aspects of receipting, warehousing, issuing and distribution processes within a contemporary warehousing environment.
- Knowledge and experience in the use of computerised inventory systems.
- Proficient literacy, numeracy and data management skills.
- Ability to undertake physically demanding work. A pre-employment medical will be completed as part of the recruitment process.
