Purpose
Promoting learning solutions within the Schools, Higher Education, TVET and Consumer markets. The Provincial Manager will be responsible for managing the Provincial P & L and driving growth and performance for their respective Province.
The Provincial Manager responsibilities will include the following tasks:
**Deliver strong financial performance**
- Driving profitable growth and increasing market share for respective Province.
- Developing a Provincial Sales Strategy aligned to the National Sales Strategy, focusing on profitable growth and customer satisfaction to position Pearson as a Market Leader in Education Products and Solutions.
- Identifying new market spaces and market disruptions in private and public sectors across the Province with a focus on obtaining and maintaining sustainable market share and long-term growth in-line with operating income and revenue targets.
- Owning and driving revenue targets for the Province.
- Proactively detect and create revenue generating opportunities.
- Balancing short term financial requirements and longer-term sustainability projects to ensure Pearson is future fit.
**Stakeholder Management**
- Engaging, collaborating and leveraging the learnings of key local and global colleagues to ensure the Provincial strategy and landscape is understood and aligned.
- Developing and driving partnerships with key stakeholders such as agencies, ministries of education and corporates, to ensure that Pearson is viewed as a trusted partner in Education across the Province.
- Ensuring personal and brand credibility in the marketplace through regular interaction with stakeholders and customers, focussing on building the Pearson brand across the Province and providing relevant educational products solutions that exceed expectations.
- Positioning Pearson across the Province as a thought leader in Education and lobbying institutions where necessary to see the benefits of the Pearson portfolio of products and services.
**Market intelligence and New Opportunities**
- Identifying and Facilitating new product and service innovation, using the Pearson agile approach and market insights to position Pearson South Africa as a leader in education, in the Province.
- Presenting and facilitating the implementation of all new business projects across the Province, while ensuring the ongoing monitoring and reporting of opportunities, risks and progress against plan, understanding that leadership alignment is mandatory.
- Representing Pearson at key Provincial or national trade shows across the Province.
- Interrogate and analyse sales, customer and product data to inform the Provincial sales strategy.
**Leadership and People Management**
- Demonstrate a cohesive leadership profile and role-modelling Pearson’s values and behaviours
- Build an inclusive culture that involves collaboration with greater teams at all levels
- Develop, mentor and coach Sales Team to deliver on sales performance
- Strives to build a healthy organisation and culture in with Pearson’s values
- Demonstrating entrepreneurial, ‘hands on’ leadership style.
- Delegating tasks and holding others accountable for delivery
- Uphold and demonstrate Pearson’s Values across all internal and external stakeholders
- Drive a high-performance team by adopting a ‘hands-on’ approach’
