**ASSISTANT : RIGGING X3 (GRADING A)**
**_Qualifying Criteria :_**
- ** Grade 11 or equivalent qualification**:
- ** 2-3 years’ experience in Engineering in a mining or industrialized environment is essential and required**:
- Knowledge of mobile crane hand signalling
- Good knowledge of all rigging / lifting equipment
- Good knowledge of SWL tags and name plates
- Ability to work flexible hours and perform standby duties including Sundays and Public Holidays
- Ability to perform physical activities (equipment and material loading and offloading unassisted, bend, climb etc.)
- South African Citizenship
**_ Responsibilities :_**
- Provide efficient support within Engineering rigging Section
- Assist in attaching loads to rigging to provide support or prepare them for moving, using hand and power tools
- Assist the rigger in slinging, tie down, low balancing and hand signals to mobile crane operator
- Assist in ensuring that all lifting tackle is up to standard by visually inspecting chain links, slings and safety catches
- Assist in erecting, set up, and repair rigging, supporting structures, hoists, and pulling gear, using hand and power tools
- Ensure that all mechanical lifting equipment such as chain blocks and coffin hoists are lubricated and ready for usage
- Ensure SWL tags and name plates are visible on all lifting equipment
- Adhere to company standards, policies and procedures
- Adhere to MHSA standards & Gold1’s safety motto **:“Nothing is so important that it cannot be done safely**”
