A multinational Asset Manager is seeking a Junior Equity Trader to form part of the Equity Trading desk of the company, whose mission statement is to be recognized as the leading local full-service stockbroker in SA.

**Qualifications & Experience**:

- 1-3 years’ experience in Equity trading in stockbroking / sell-side position
- Proficient on trading/information systems (Bloomberg, Hermes, Iress Pro)
- Must be current with market drivers and conditions/news, share specific drivers and news
- Solid Excel skills.

**Duties & Responsibilities**:

- As a member of the Equities trading team you will be tasked with executing in single names and large baskets.
- Ability to grow into a position of handling large volumes of trades
- Manage multi directional flow across multiple names and clients
- Knowledge of algos, all trade types and trading functions required to manage a busy order pad
- Strong market awareness in terms of data that is moving markets and individual stocks
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Focused on service excellence and building trust through consistency of service
- High levels of care when looking after client flows
- Able to execute flow in developed markets
- Experience in executing across Africa, GEMS & Frontier markets in addition to JSE a plus
- Ability to participate and contribute in morning meetings
- Comfortable creating and distributing market commentary
- High energy with emphasis on regular client feedback on status of orders, market conditions and relevant news and information
- Revenue generating focus (be proactive and able to take initiative)
- Able to work in, communicate and contribute to a dynamic and growing team
- Willing to work outside of standard JSE trading hours
