**ABOUT THE ROLE**

As a Maintenance Technician at Nurture iLembe, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation, safety, and upkeep of all physical infrastructure and equipment at our rehabilitation facility. You will play a vital role in supporting a healing environment for patients and a safe workplace for staff through timely maintenance, repairs, and preventative care.

This role requires a proactive, reliable, and solutions-oriented individual who can work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Perform general building maintenance, including plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and carpentry tasks.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventative maintenance of facility systems and equipment.
- Respond promptly to repair requests and maintenance issues reported by staff.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, including infection prevention protocols.
- Assist in the upkeep of outdoor areas, including parking, walkways, and landscaping as needed.
- Liaise with external service providers for specialized repairs or installations.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and assist with asset management.
- Support fire safety, generator, and backup systems functionality.
- Ensure that all maintenance work minimizes disruption to patients and clinical operations.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum of Grade 12 (Matric).
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations, OHS Act, and facility compliance standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and work to tight timelines.
- Basic computer literacy (for logging work and managing records).
