A high performance, dynamic, driven, and growing company operating in the motor industry has a vacancy for a **Mechanic **to join their team in **Boksburg, Gauteng**.
- Inspect vehicle engine and mechanical/electrical components to diagnose issues accurately.
- Inspect vehicle computer and electronic systems to repair, maintain and upgrade.
- Conduct routine maintenance work (replacing fluids, lubricating parts etc.) aiming to vehicle functionality and longevity.
- Schedule future maintenance sessions and advise motorists on good vehicle use.
- Repair or replace broken or dysfunctional parts and fix issues (e.g. leaks)
- Strip vehicles for spares
- Provide accurate estimates (cost, time, effort) for a repair or maintenance job.
- Keep logs on work and issues.
- Maintain equipment and tools in good condition.
- Any ad-hoc duties

Educational pre-requisites:

- Relevant qualification (Minimum of N3)
- Forklift license will be advantageous, but not essential.
- Proven experience as a mechanic position
- Excellent knowledge of mechanical, electrical and electronic components of vehicles
- Working knowledge of vehicle diagnostic systems and methods
- Ability to handle various tools and heavy equipment.
- Willingness to observe all safety precautions for protections against accidents, dangerous fluids, chemicals etc.
- The willingness to keep up to date with technological advances in the field.
- Intermediate computer and Excel skills
- The ability to communicate effectively in English (written and spoken)

Interpersonal skills:

- Must be physically fit for heavy work.
- Someone who is meticulous and accurate and enjoys working with their hands.
- Good eye and hand coordination
- Possess outstanding troubleshooting skills.
- Position will be based in the Boksburg area, reliable transportation essential.
