To set a clear vision and focus for the Unit and ensure that the vision is understood at the lowest level.
- To identify the Key Manufacturing Tasks of the Unit and to implement plans to bring focus and expertise to these tasks.
- To develop the potential of all the people at the Unit by making use of all available resources.
- To manage the interface between the operations of the Unit and the functions of the various Service departments.
- To integrate and co-ordinate the functions and activities of the various departments at the Unit towards the goal.
- To bring focus and direction to the elements of Manufacturing Excellence namely Lowering Unit Costs, Improving Quality, Improving Service Levels, Managing Working Capital.
- To identify production variances and take the required corrective action to eliminate them.
- To create a work environment that promotes the concept of Continuous Improvement.
- To lead the Unit by harnessing ideas on improvement, identifying and correcting under performance and recognising excellent work.
- To manage the production process to a specification and set objectives.
- To continually improve the availability and efficiency of the plant

Experience
- Matric
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Function
- 10 + years exp. in Milling manufacturing management; project management proficiency; quality & H&S familiarity.
- Grain Manufacturers Federation
- Extensive experience in Milling

Key Professional Competencies
- Academy SAGMA Wheat and/or Maize Milling SAQA; Milling & Equipment international short courses.
- Suitably qualified and related experience with Risk and Loss Control functionality, and is able to work independently with following attributes:

- Good interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of modern manufacturing methods.
- Ability to lead and develop a management team.
- Self motivated.
- High levels of personal discipline.
- Analytical skills.
- Computer literate (MS Office, MS Project, Oracle)
- Leadership Owning it, Driving long-term results, Staying a step-ahead
