Risk professional to be appointed as a Risk Manager for IBD Pan Africa. Suited to a degreed individual with 5-7 years operational and or risk experience in an Investment Banking environment. Deep understanding of IB products coupled with strong control assurance experience within a Pan African financial services environment. Must have the ability to navigate efficiently in a matrix organisational structure with multiple stakeholders and engage effectively with senior management stakeholders.
**Job Description**:
Risk Identification: Guide IBD front office and support functions in identifying current and emerging material inherent operational risk exposures.
Control Evaluation: Facilitate the rigorous assessment of the effectiveness of process checks and system controls in place to mitigate the material inherent risks identified.
Control Environment remediation: Advise on the effectiveness of existing controls as well as the design and implementation of new controls required to sufficiently mitigate material gaps.
Risk Profile Monitoring: Lead in the monitoring and compilation of the IBD Risk Profile by partnering with risk teams from other control areas that impact IBD as well as with 2nd-line Operational Risk. Escalate above-appetite risk exposure to senior management.
Reporting: Provide reports to highlight issues, trends, remediation and feed into the various CIB governance committees
Education
Bachelor's Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (required)
