**Job Title**: CNC Machine Operator

**Purpose**:
Operate and maintain various machines, including drill presses, CNC routers, and CNC steel bending and rolling machines, to support production processes efficiently and accurately.

**General Requirements**:

- Proficiency in basic CNC machine operations using blueprints, drawings, and procedures.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- 1-3 years of relevant work experience.
- High School certificate or equivalent, demonstrating basic literacy and math skills.
- Capability to read and understand basic CNC part programs.
- Competence in performing quality checks using tools such as verniers, micrometers, and various gauges.
- Knowledge of CNC routers and CNC steel bending and rolling machines.
- Strong math skills for inputting specific dimensions and figures into CNC machinery.
- Strong computer skills for using software to control machinery.
- Team-oriented mindset, with a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.
- Physical ability to lift heavy materials and stand for extended periods during machine operation.
- Familiarity with troubleshooting and diagnosing issues in CNC machinery to minimize downtime.

**Key Skills**:

- Ability to analyze blueprints or other documents to ensure the final product matches specifications.
- Understanding of machine functionality to maintain and ensure proper operation.
- Problem-solving skills to detect issues in the production process and find solutions to meet draft requirements.
- Knowledge of various materials (e.g., metals, wood, composites) and their machining behaviours.
- Proficiency in selecting appropriate cutting tools, dyes, inserts, and feeds/speeds for specific operations.

**Typical Responsibilities**:

- Perform CNC machine setups, operations, and basic maintenance on one or more machines, including CNC routers and CNC steel bending and rolling machines.
- Use blueprints, work orders, and standard instructions to execute production tasks.
- Adjust machines, including offsets, wear, and geometry, as needed.
- Maintain coolant and oil levels, and ensure proper handling of bar stock materials and scrap.
- Conduct quality checks and adhere to acceptable quality and quantity standards.
- Eliminate non-value-added activities and contribute to process improvements.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a safe work environment.
- Accurately record production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities performed.
- Collaborate with design, carpentry, assembly, and quality assurance teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes.
- Train new operators or team members on proper CNC operation and safety protocols.
- Complete additional tasks as assigned.

**Work Environment**:
**Preferred Qualifications**:

- Certification in CNC Machining or a related technical field.
- Familiarity with advanced manufacturing techniques, such as laser cutting, 3D printing, or robotics would be a plus.
- Experience in a Lean Manufacturing.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm
Contract length: 3 months

Pay: R12 000,00 - R17 000,00 per month
