Inbound Procurement and Pricing Specialist

**What are you going to do?**
- Manage inbound supply chain from Global suppliers
- Source Feed Additives and Young Animal Feeds from sister OpCos in alignment with local requirements
- Source raw materials, including amino acids, from international suppliers, negotiate and close contracts and provide recommendations to management.
- Maintain the position (short/long) for imported commodities in line with management mandates. Alert management as to when there are potential problems and provide solutions.
- Ensure that procurement is performed strategically to remain competitive in the market and beat monthly market average pricing.
- Keep up to date with market movements across all relevant commodities and main forex currencies to make informed trading decisions and manage risk
- Review weekly output from internal customers such as Material Requirements Planning for requisitions.
- Attune purchase orders with manufacturing and trading opportunities
- Ensure sourcing requirements are fully reflected in the purchase order and proper implementation of contracts.
- Responsible for operational relations with relevant suppliers and administers ongoing supplier management programs.
- May recommend cost saving proposals including make-versus-buy analysis, alternative sourcing, and vendor evaluation criteria.
- Coordination with other OpCos in the EMEA Cluster in terms of market analysis and appropriate procurement and sales strategies.
- Make medium term forecast of cost price development.
- Translate market developments and understand their impact on product flow, pricing, and availability.
- Market scanning i.e. gain insight with regard to supplier markets, new market developments, compare quotations, cost price analyses, negotiating, closing deals, supplier selection etc
- Maintains accurate master planning data in business systems.
- Compiling reports on procurement and trading performance and statistics.
- Participate in coordinating activities with supply management colleagues
- Participate in designing plans, systems, tracking mechanisms to help implement material requirements efficiently.
- Decide inventory strategy to ensure timely and adequate inventory flow while reducing excess stock holding and reducing lead times
- Successfully troubleshoots most supply bottlenecks/ inventory delays independently. Advising Product Management and Supply Management in case of stagnation.
- Engage in trading of commodities in-line with business objectives
- Develop business strategies to find gaps in the commodity trading space in SA and SADAC countries. Identify new product areas and geographical target markets to capitalise on trading opportunity and drive profitability
- Assist with pricings for procured/manufactured products where necessary
- Recommend appropriate policies regarding pricing, product and market evaluations. Maintain knowledge on all relevant competitor products and activities.

- Previous Sales/trading experience
