**Job Description : Senior Service Technician - Engineering & Mining Equipment** **(Engineering - Manufacturing - Service & Repairs - Mining)** - **Job Function**:_ - _In this role you take full Service and "management" of the full service planning, scheduling, customer liaison, work delivery, inspection, customer interface, quality and administration components. _ - _You will work with, and manage a team of technicians._ - _This is not an office position. 70% Travel is required and includes client visits in African countries and mine sites. _ - _The position requires project planning, complex problem solving and problem solving skills to achieve the Key Responsibilities Indicators as described in the job description._ **Position Overview** - The Senior Service Technician manages the work of engineering technicians. - Responsible for delivering hands-on solutions for challenging problems, leading multiple projects, and performing scheduled daily work activities. - Full hands-on technical work and a team & service leadership function, forms part of this extensive role with full Service and Quality Service deliverables. - Overtime, long travel away periods and shift work is required in South Africa, African Cuntries and Middle East.) **Duties and responsibilities** - To attend to reports of breakdowns and equipment failure on the premises or anywhere that may be required of you timeously. - To install new equipment and fixtures, remove the old equipment and dispose of it according to company rules and regulations. - To perform continuous improvement projects to improve the efficiency and performance of equipment. - Reduce engineering downtime through effective and applied maintenance processes. - To be responsible for the completion and filing of job cards for all work done. - To maintain their designated area of responsibility within the standards set out as per plant engineering standards. - Comply with the OHS act requirements on all safety standards. - To assist in the upgrade and pending projects in the plant. - Report identified problems and progress with management on and off-site. - Designated associates shall have defined responsibility and authority to initiate and record actions. - Read blueprints, schematics, and diagrams to determine how to assemble parts, machines, and other equipment. - Use specialized instruments to measure parts and ensure they meet specifications - Inspect parts for defects. - Test the performance of mechanical assemblies. - Operate, test, and maintain robotic equipment. - Analyse and record test results, and prepare written documentation. **Required skills**: - Analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking skills. - Teamwork and interpersonal communication skills. - Ensuring breakdowns are attended to in accordance with machine specifications. - Assist and provide hands-on technical and mechanical repairs with breakdowns. - Planning and recording production. - Liaise with Sales Support Coordinator and Management. - Quality control and management on service, repairs, and maintenance. - Mechanical aptitude and ability to understand complex diagrams and schematics. - High-level organization skills. - Hands-on electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical engineering/equipment experience at a previous position. - Experience with bench and automated test equipment. - Manage the on-site repair, maintenance, and service as the leader. - Great attention to detail and self-driven. - Multitasking & prioritizing in a high-pressure environment without a lot of direction or management. - Professional verbal and written communication skills. - Proficient with MS Office - Word, Excel, & PowerPoint. - Experience with bench and automated test equipment. **Qualifications** - Minimum 8 years work experience. - N4 Technical qualification. - Qualified Red seal Millwright. - Must be a Trade Tested Millwright - Mechanical, hydraulic, electric, and electronic tooling knowledge - Knowledge of mechanical inspections, tools, and analysers. - A comprehensive understanding and applied knowledge of hydraulics, engine mechanics, electrical, electronics, and technical schematics. - Knowledge of MEWP equipment regarding operations, functions, technical functions, parts, and tools. **KPAs**: - Conducting machine audits and repairs as and when required. - Attending and resolving of breakdowns on customer site, in best possible timelines. - Formal root analyses of the customer’s maintenance or breakdown causes/concerns. - Maintain safety standards both in-house and off-site. - Performing standby to assist customers with breakdowns after hours. - Quality Service management. **Administration Tasks & Responsibilities** - Computer literate as well as MS Office - Time Management - Documentation Skills - Inventory Control - Report writing. - Recording work time. - Planning and scheduling daily work and maintenance plans. - Completed work report writing to a high standard. **Individual Skills** - Verbal com
