**LITERACY**:
Equivalent to grade 12 - Advanced mathematic skills to ensure accurate stock take
- **LANGUAGE**:
Excellent communication skills in English Language - Verbal and Written to be able to communicate with the guests and with management level and ensure accurate reports
- **EDUCATION/ FORMAL TRAINING**:
Not required but an education related to Food & Beverage and/or management will be an advantage. Experience with stock control systems and EasiPOS/POS systems. Food costing knowledge will be an advantage

**COMPETENCY**:
A positive, flexible attitude to work is essential, as is the ability to work well under pressure in order to meet the demand of the guests. Must have sound knowledge of food & beverage products. At least 1 year experience in an F&B department and 1 year within a supervisory position, dealing with staff, handling policies and procedures and doing training
- _**Scope and purpose of Job**:_

Responsible for managing the day to day food and beverage operations of the hotel in a professional manner, following legal and sanitation standards and codes, basic discipline and reviewing of employees. Always ensuring that guests receive fast, friendly and efficient food and beverage service, and maintain an upbeat atmosphere, that appeals to a diverse clientele. Ensure that the department follows all the requirements of the operational standards manual.

This position involves that you assist the Food & Beverage Manager with design and review of the menu’s and maintain records of sales/costing breakdown and staff training. Provide management with related reports on profits, losses and variances. Responsible for the control of the inventory in the food and beverage department and ensure accurate stock takes.

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Cape Town, Western Cape (City of Cape Town): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)

**Education**:

- Diploma (preferred)

**Experience**:

- Chef De Partie or Junior Sous Chef: 3 years (preferred)

**Language**:

- English (preferred)
