The Head Office of a large Private Hospital Group situated in Sandton, JHB, is seeking a Legal Advisor reporting to the Company Secretary. The Legal Advisor will be responsible for the drafting and reviewing of all commercial contracts in alignment with Group policies and procedures as well as best practice, and to provide legal advice to various business departments.

KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES

Contract Management
Draft and review commercial contracts, including service level agreements, leases, shareholders agreements, loans, consultancy agreements, IT, and supply agreements
Perform legal due diligence assessments on projects
Draft standard general terms and conditions
Provide legal input into the review of new products
Review all contracts and processes to ensure compliance with data protection laws
Formulate and implement compliance risk management plans for the business/group
Manage and continuously review all service agreements
Implement and administer a contract management system for all contracts

Teamwork
Actively participate as a member of a team to achieve goals
Maintain communication and post information on shared documents
Demonstrate integrity at all times when engaging with the Team

Work effectively and co-operatively with others to establish and maintain good working relationships that are mutually beneficial

SKILLS PROFILE

Education
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree at a NQF Level 8
Admitted Attorney to the High Court of South Africa

Work experience
5-8 years post qualification experience
Experience in drafting and reviewing commercial contracts
Experience in legal due diligence

Knowledge
Computer literacy
Good legal drafting skills
Excellent knowledge of contract law
Accuracy and attention to detail in reviewing legal documentation
