**Overview / Purpose of the job**:

- Responsible for carrying out repairs, maintenance and general upkeep of all types of all electrical equipment within the premises including facilities

**Minimum Requirements**:

- Matric
- Relevant technical training (NTC2 and above)
- Trade Test Electrician
- Valid electrical wireman’s license
- Valid code 8 driver’s license

**KPA’s**:

- Repairing and carrying inspections of all electrical breakdowns and ensuring minimum downtime.
- Installing new electrical related equipment as and when required.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance checks and identifying faults on all related equipment and plant.
- Producing a full and detailed electrical update of all electrical plant and equipment monthly
- Carrying earth leakage tests monthly
- Carry out monthly meter readings
- Working on live equipment up to 380v
- Work professionally and safely with 380 volt three-phase supplies
- Participate within the health, safety and environmental programmes
- Issuing low voltage permits and testing of installations and issuing the completion certificates of compliance.
- Self-management and performance ownership

**Technical Competencies**:

- Strong understanding of maintenance environment
- High levels of mental and physical stamina (including ability to carry out duties, to lift parts and equipment up to 50kg; able to stand/walk for prolonged periods of time)
- Good reading, writing, and intermediate mathematical skills in order to perform the required functions.
- Knowledge of radio, calculator and telephone use
- Regulations and procedures pertaining to the maintenance environment
- Able to interpret results and establish an electrical diagnosis
- Understanding of and the ability to comply with policies and procedures
- General knowledge and understanding of all other maintenance tasks required
