Package Manager: Electrical, Control

GIBB Mining, a subsidiary of the GIBB Group, is looking for another talented professional to complement their team, in the form of a Package Manager: Electrical, Control & Instrumentation.

The below listed responsibilities and requirements will be assessed during the interview stages and will further be confirmed with the relevant professional references that you currently are or have reported to in your previously two positions.

**Key Attributes**:

- **Technical Proficiency**: Understanding engineering principles relevant to mining projects, such as HT overhead transmission lines, outdoor switching stations, MV substations, MCC’s, transformers, MV distribution, mini-subs, LT reticulation, earthing, data network architecture and backbone, VOIP, microwave communication towers as a minimum together with a good understanding of the MHSA, OHSA and Regulations as well as NEMA compliance requirements.
- **Project Planning and Scheduling**: Ability to develop comprehensive project plans, set realistic timelines, and manage resources effectively. Good working knowledge of MSP is considered essential.
- **Risk Management**: Identifying potential business and project related risks and developing mitigation strategies to ensure project continuity and safety.
- **Communication Skills**:Clear verbal and written communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders, team members, and contractors to ensure everyone is aligned with project goals and timelines. Report writing and proficiency in WORD and Power Point and Excel is considered to be essential.
- **Budget Management**:Keeping track of project cost and schedule trends and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints by implementing formal Change Management processes.
- **Leadership**:Motivating and leading cross-functional and multi-disciplinary engineering teams to achieve project milestones and overcome challenges.
- **Problem-Solving**:Ability to think critically and solve complex issues that may arise during the project lifecycle.
- **Contract Management**:Contractual knowledge of FIDIC and NEC forms of contract, as well as good contract administration skills and claims management is considered essential.
- **Regulatory Compliance**: Ensuring the project complies with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation (MHSA and OHSA).
- **Client Relationship Management**: Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients built on trust to understand their needs and deliver projects that meet or exceed expectations.
- **Adaptability**: Being able to adapt to changing project conditions, market dynamics, and technological advancements in the mining industry.

**Responsibilities**:

- Ensure the health, safety, and environmental performance of the assigned work package or work packages.
- Oversee the technical development, design, procurement, and delivery of the assigned construction and supply package/s.
- Deliver the work package scope, including construction, within the expected timeframe, budget, and quality standards.
- Identify and manage project and/or work package risks while ensuring compliance with all applicable standards and procedures.
- Maintain strong and professional relationships with clients built on trust.
- Manage work package contracts including the primary client contract in accordance with the general contract conditions.
- Lead monthly work package progress and contract meetings.
- Lead weekly project technical and/or construction progress meetings, record minutes, and distribute them accordingly.
- Operate within a project matrix structure, utilizing construction managers, project planners, project cost controllers and associated staff to execute deliverables.
- Ensure cost recovery in alignment with contractual agreements.
- Promote and enforce a zero-tolerance policy for workplace harm.
- Implement and maintain quality management systems at all times.
- Integrate activities of engineers, designers, specialists, contractors, and project members to align with project scope and objectives.
- Ensure only approved work is executed within the defined scope.
