Hvac Assistant

SFI Group, is a national air-conditioning service and maintenance company who seeks to employ a HVAC Assistant who is responsible for conducting day to day tasks as directed by the artisan responsible for overseeing the area - requires knowledge and understanding and use of portable technical equipment. All duties shall be performed aligned to ensuring compliance to the Quality Management System for the areas of responsibility.

**OVERALL SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**Adherence to health and safety standards**
- Responsible for safe working practices, own safety and of that of colleagues
- Use equipment in line with safety practices
- Comply with all applicable standards, policies and procedures, including safety procedures and maintenance of a clean work area.

**Performing day to day task as directed**
- Repair or replace defective equipment, components or wiring.
- Test pipe or tubing joints and connections for leaks with soap-and-water solution.
- Perform preventive and general maintenance procedures such as cleaning, oiling parts, and changing filters.
- Assist with the installation of replacement components to heating-cooling equipment, such as valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers following prescriptions
- Assist with other work coordination with repair and maintenance teams

**Housekeeping**
- Ensure good house keeping
- Cleaning the area of work and areas as requested by supervisors
- General site establishment prior to work commences

**Experience**:

- Minimum 2 years experience in HVAC Maintenance & Refrigeration

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12 or N3 with Mathematics and Science
- Drivers Licence advantageous
