**Position details**:

Reports to: General manager
Job titles of direct reports: Drawing Office Cylinder Department Manifold Block Department Projects Manager
Primary Purpose: The technical manager is a versatile position that requires sufficient managerial skills as well as sufficient technical skills. A technical manager should be able to perform all necessary tasks related to Company engineered Fluid Tech Products.

Job description / core competencies:
MAJOR TASK HEADINGS OR KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:
Responsibility for building and maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders

Demonstrate a strong customer service focus and quality communication and output in all interactions with key stakeholders and external contacts

MEASURES OF EFFECTIVENESS/SUCCESS

All query requests are responded to within 24 hours

Communications with all stakeholders are professional Management feedback

All internal and external reports are accurate and delivered by the deadline
- Project Management

Initiation of New Projects/re-engineering projects by clearly defining the Project Brief (goals, scope, roles of team members, milestones and methods of tracking progress)

Evaluating the viability of options /alternatives Identifying and selecting the best options to improve productivity

Determining project plan implementation deadlines Oversee implementation of re-engineering projects/initiatives

Utilise resources as per the strategic project plan for maximum productivity Projects are completed according to customer specifications, time, quality and budget constraints Project progress is monitored to ensure productivity and target achievement

Tracking and Reporting of Projects with status reports corrective action steps when projects are running behind schedule

Deliver In Full and On Time

Maintain quoted Margin on All Project Work

Ensure appropriate recovery for full scope of work.
- Technical Problem solving Assessment of a problem using technical knowledge.

Information is sourced, analysed and documented Recommendations clearly communicated with credibility and agreement on outcomes

Application of knowledge to effect correct assembly and manufacture of systems and to determine causes for product failure or malfunction.

Assist with Field Service Trouble Shooting

Overlook and maintain continuous development with Company’s OEM supplied product
- General Oversee and keep relations with key accounts

Advise Fluid Tech Department on stock requirements for specific industries

Handle queries and provide technical advice to branches and customers

Supporting and guiding branch managers with exciting key accounts to ensure ongoing business

Responsible for Corporate and Customer technical training for specified divisions

Managing and maintaining regular visits and interactions with Project Customers
- Health, Safety and Environmental Standards

Safety and health problems are identified and reported to the safety rep for rectifying Hazardous situations are reported and resolved immediately

Safety and health equipment is available and ready for use Incidents /accidents are prevented by effective operating of equipment and machinery, and by following health and safety procedures

Health and safety procedures are adhered to and updated as laid down by legislation

The work area is safe and clean as per company policy

**Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Minimum qualifications required:
B-Tech or B-Sc Mechanical or Electrical

Relevant University Degree NQF level 7

Minimum experience and competency requirements:
Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in a technical environment.

Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Exceptional organisational skills and
