Our client in the mining industry has an opportunity available for a Junior Metallurgist to be based in the Brits area.

**Requirements**:

- NQF 6 (Diploma Advanced Certificate) in Extractive Metallurgy or engineering or
- NQF 7 (Bachelor’s Degree) in Extractive Metallurgy or Chemical or engineering.
- At least 3 years’ experience in Platinum Group Metals (PGM) and Chrome process environment.
- Experience in Hydrometallurgical/Minerals Processing Plant Operation
- Knowledge of Mine Health and Safety legislation and Government legislation applicable to the mining industry
- Relevant computer skills (MS Office and SAP).
- Valid drivers’ licence

KPAs:

- Maintain occupational health and safety standards when performing tasks
- New technology must comply with health and safety legislation
- Identify expansion possibilities to the plant manager and manager metallurgical operations.
- Make recommendations and carry out projects to optimise performance of the plant and material recovery
- Monitor and analyse control reports from the plant
- Monitor performance of instrumentation and computers
- Supply support and detailed information to the plant manager and manager metallurgical operations
- Ensure that chemical disposal is done according to environmental specific requirements
