**Job Advert Summary**:
Rand Water is currently looking for an Audit Specialist - IT to ensure technology used is better suited to support business operations by identifying and evaluating the controls that manage the technology environment risks ensuring integrity of the business data, operational efficiency which ultimately ensures operational continuity by conducting planned and ad-hoc independent reviews. To conduct and play a role in in pro-active auditing though continuous auditing and where required, consulting services mainly in IT/DTI projects..

**Minimum Requirements**:

- BCom, B-Tech or equivalent qualification
- CISA and/or H Dip Computer Audit (advantageous)
- CIA advantageous
- Min 5 years auditing and 2 of these years should include supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of SAP and related technologies i.e., SAP HANA and SAP GRC
- Should have performed IT General Control Reviews (ITGCRs), and Application Controls Reviews (ACRs).
- Solid understanding of System Development methodologies.
- Understanding of the COBIT and COSO Frameworks and the risk-based audit methodology
- Knowledge of International Internal Auditing Standards, Water Services Act, PFMA, Companies Act and Corporate Governance
- Understanding of Principles of Project Management
- Basic understanding of ISO standards as they related to operational technology processes
- Basic understanding of Combined Assurance

**Primary Duties**:

- Contribute to the development of the annual internal audit plan and related 3-year rolling plan.
- Develop and record a risk-based plan for each audit engagement, including the scope, objectives, timing, testing and reporting as well as resource allocations.
- Identify and rate the risks, cost implications and potential benefits and savings for special investigations and ad-hoc audit projects.
- Build and manage relationships with IT/DTI and OT stakeholders and across the organisation.
- Timely prepare audit reports and communicate audit results to management per audit engagement.
- Plan and conduct follow up reviews on management’s corrective actions.
- Ensure to stay up to date with industry trends and regulations related to IT auditing and provide guidance and support to other auditors on IT audit engagements or integrated audits.
- Assist the audit manager in compiling quarterly reports to the EXCO and the Audit Committee.
- Ensure the organisations’ resources are utilised as outlined in terms of the PFMA
- Ensure that the risks that threaten the performance objectives of the IT division have been identified
- Ensure that Rand Water complies with all relevant legislations.
