- Managing and organizing laboratory, field, and instrumentation environmental data, while ensuring quality and consistency;
- Providing technical support to users of environmental data management software;
- Collecting, compiling, and analysing water monitoring data including, but not limited to, lake elevations, river flows, pumping records, and water quality;
- Managing site water and groundwater quantity and quality databases on MS Excel and MonitorPro platforms;
- Implementing the operational water management plan and associated water related initiatives;
- Assisting with the management of all internal and external environmental reporting requirements;
- Assisting in developing standards and procedures for data management process improvements;
- Actively communicating and coordinating with project managers, laboratories, and/or other team members to acquire data packages of varying formats to be imported to a centralized database system; and
- Supporting digital transformation projects by enabling technical teams to more efficiently collect and manage field data using digital platforms.

**Qualifications**:
**Formal qualifications**:

- Undergraduate degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, or equivalent;
- Five (5) years of environmental and water management experience, preferably from environmental consulting or mining sectors;
- Proficiency at writing technical reports;
- Registered with South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions (SACNASP)
- Previous experience with environmental permitting and regulatory compliance in mining or related industries
- Ability to simplify complex datasets and present them comprehensibly to relevant stakeholders;
- Advanced skills with MS Excel and proficiency with MS Word and PowerPoint;
- Familiarity with database management software;
- Possess sound judgment, planning, problem solving and decision making abilities;
- Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, with the ability to write technical reports;
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and productively;

**Job Type**: Contract
Contract length: 15 months
