**A vacancy exists for a Supervisor - Virology (Paterson Grade C4)**

**Purpose of the Job**
- Supervises and performs, pre-analytical functions, Serology and NAT testing on all samples received utilizing automated analyzers.
- Supervises Confirmatory testing and Plasma Repository.
- Mentors staff and assists Manager with co-ordination of projects
- Perform confirmatory testing procedures and interprets and collates donor results consisting of routine, supplementary and confirmatory results.
- Reviews the budget monthly for deviations and provides support to the Laboratory Manager when compiling the annual budget.
- Interprets and initiates resignation or reinstatement process.
- Requests and collates external test results for donor queries or when additional testing is needed.
- Assist the Department with implementing continuous Improvement principles

**Minimum Requirements**
- B-Tech/ in Biomedical Technology/BHSc
- Registered with HPCSA
- A minimum of 3 years post qualification experience
- Experience working in a Virology Lab (Added Advantage)
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Office; M-files
- Demonstrable leadership and influencing skills
- Provable co-ordination and problem-solving skills
- Good interpersonal skills
- Must be able to work under pressure
- On
- call and weekend work is required
