Security Manager

**Purpose**
To be responsible for implementing, and managing security policies, procedures, and programs to ensure the safety and security of an organisation's personnel, assets, and information.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Ensure a safe environment through a team effort of diligent active patrol, strict access control, monitoring, and equipment control.
- Respond immediately to distress calls, panic alarms, and emergency calls for disorderly conduct, disruptive persons, and incidents swiftly and appropriately.
- Monitor and enforce security protocols and procedures
- Oversee the operation and maintenance of security systems, such as:
- CCTV systems
- Biometric Access control systems
- Alarm systems
- Communication systems.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all security equipment.
- Manage the outsourced security service providers.
- Conduct security risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to analyse security risks and develop strategies for mitigation.
- Conduct investigations into security incidents and prepare detailed reports thereafter.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary.
- Implement policies and procedures to maintain and strengthen security standards.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards related to security.
- Conduct regular audits to assess compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Maintain the company’s reputation with professionalism and legal compliance.
- Interact with employees, visitors, and clients in a professional and courteous manner.
- Address security-related concerns and aid as needed.
- Build and maintain relationship with local law enforcement as and when required.
- Communicate and drive awareness strategies within the business to ensure loss prevention goals are embedded within the organisation.
- Compile and submit comprehensive security.
- Write or review security-related documents, such as incident reports and proposals.
- Analyse and evaluate security operations to identify risks or opportunities for improvement through auditing, review, or assessment and present recommendations to senior management.
- Communicate security status, updates, and actual or potential problems, using established protocols.
**Skills Required**:
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification.
- PSIRA certification Grade A. A diploma/degree in Criminal Justice/security or equivalent will be an added advantage.
- 5 years security management experience.
- Experience in management of security service providers.
