The Insider Threat Intelligence Analyst is a member of the Insider Trust Program with primary responsibility for responding to insider threat security events.

Overall job purpose

The Insider Threat Analyst is responsible for the identification, management and mitigation of insider threat security events. Conducting complex and technical data source analysis; providing investigative leads for threat investigators; providing data analysis and analytical support for cases & projects; providing internal and external intelligence.

**Job Description**:
Key accountabilities Accountability: Triage & escalate insider threat Intelligence security events (80%)
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team in the delivery of insider threat

management.
- Delivers recommendations and actions to improve the detection, prevention

and escalation of Intelligence invents.
- Perform data and link analysis and analytical insights into case & project work.
- Capture of requests and closure of requests on the case management system.
- Search for additional “suspect links” through Absa's search function.
- Gather information from various sources - internally and externally.
- Use intelligence data to help managers with planning resources review how

effective the analysis is and recommend changes where necessary.
- Look at how patterns of criminal activity are linked so that you can provide

information on individuals or syndicate.
- Be vigilant in terms of analysis to come to correct conclusions.
- Link cases by area, face and pattern to refer to the fraud investigation for

further investigation.
- Review MI, identifying areas of potential concern.
- Keep record of all analyses conducted.
- Ensure proper record keeping of reports.

Accountability: Contribution to Insider Trust Program (20%)
- Help develop innovative Insider Threat Intelligence capabilities to further

enhance our proactive and reactive analytical processes.
- Identify techniques, tactics and procedures for new insider threats and

trends.
- Stays current with global developments in the industry through research,

periodicals, seminars, training, vendor site visits, and memberships.
- Prepare and deliver reports, using metrics and data visualizations, to

effectively communicate risk management to ITP Lead.

Higher Diplomas: Physical, Mathematical, Computer and Life Sciences (required)
