**Main Responsibilities**
- Promote and protect the company name in the market.
- Develop a network in the DRC and neighboring regions to extract market intelligence and evolve understanding of material flows or commercial opportunities.
- Regular visits to all the copper and cobalt mines monitoring production and any quality issues
- Develop and maintain an understanding on artisanal cobalt production and monitor fluctuations in quantities produced, from which pits
- Understand source of ores for all plants
- Support compliance in ESG approvals and monitoring of producers.
- Work with marginal producers to help satisfy our ESG requirements to be able to source more product
- Monitor all projects and keep commercial team and research updated
- Monitor logistics situation and flow of product to market, including road and rail conditions, disruptions, status of border crossings, new developments. Keep commercial team updated
- Monitor production at company, including quantity and quality
- Company mine and production planning - How does the process work from initial mine planning to production plant planning, and how is that then reconciled with final output. Where does input data in SAP come from and where do variances with final production come in procurement process / arrival of inputs - truck scheduling/unloading, storage, inventory targets
- Customs pre-clearance, pre-staging, & loading process for end product. Spend time with customs brokers (e.g. Bolloré office at LIP)
- company commercial relationship - understand communication channels between
- Company and if possible gain insight into commercial contracts
- Logistics planning - gain and maintain visibility into their plans and approach to the managing logistics
- TFM mixed ore project - progress on project, logistics and customs flow plans
- Visit other (Chinese) miners in the region (with Sharon). What are others doing about upcoming logistics crunch
- Inside track on political situation
- Understanding of production process for Cu and Co, mainly for your own benefit
- Identify and develop relationship with all the key people through the production process to gain access to production and operational information at company**Inherent Requirements**

- Proven experience as a Metals Trader or in the Metals / Mining Sector.
- Able to build strong, collaborative internal and external relationships.
- Flexible, works to deadlines and under pressure.
- Self-starter, self-motivated, effective traveler.
- Good data management skills.
- Good reporting skills.
