Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary in charge of 3 carers at night in a Frailcare in Wynberg Cape Town

ABOUT THE POSITION

Minimum requirements:
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and your duties will revolve around the care of elderly patients with a special focus on Dementia and Alzheimer patients.

Providing basic care, assisting with personal hygiene.

Administering blister-packed medications under supervision of the registered nurse.

First Aid Certificate will be an advantage.

Documenting the patient’s condition and progress.

Providing support and assistance with activities of daily living to other members of the care team, such as the care workers

Monitoring Vitals of residents and recording.

Do basic wound care and teach care workers the procedure.

Observe change in the condition of residents and record in the daily report.

Assist care workers to write reports in good English.

Assess sleep routines of patients, record and discuss with registered nurse
- care plan must be adjusted accordingly.

**Skills**

A strong understanding of any medical directives or treatment plans set out by the other team members (Doctor, NSM or Physiotherapist) in order to ensure that all tasks are completed appropriately.

Good communication skills with colleagues, patients, family members, and care workers.

Stay calm and firm in an emergency situation.Familiarize yourself with the Emergency Protocol

Knowledge of Geriatric Care

Knowledge of Dementia Care

**Desired Qualifications Level and Accreditation**

Diploma as a qualified Enrolled Nurse Auxiliary

Registered with the South African Nursing Council

**About The Employer**:
A small retirement village that provides accommodation; indipendant units and frail frail care services to the retired Dominican sisters. The retirement village is situated in the Wynberg area in Western Cape.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: R11 000,00 - R13 000,00 per month
