**Plan internal audit assignment**
- Plans the internal audit assignment including completion of the scoping letter/planning memo as per the internal audit coverage plan and logístical arrangements.
**Prepares audit working papers**
- Ensures that all the information required for the audit has been obtained and that any shortcomings have been reported
- Ensures that reported findings are accurate
**Follows audit procedures**
- Executes audits in accordance with the IIA Standards
- Ensures that working papers are complete and concise, addressing the objective of the audit conducted
- Ensures that proper measures are in place and that documents and records are being kept
- Identifies threats, noncompliance with statutory and company policies and evaluates controls and reports thereon
- Build relationships at appropriate levels to obtain the necessary information pertinent to the audit.
- Identifies new risks to the business during audits and escalates these to the appropriate member of management to take action
- Communicates risk assessment to interested parties
- Confirms compliance with internal and external regulations as well as legislation
- Writes reports to and discusses findings noted during the internal audits with various managers and departmental heads covering all areas tested, deficiencies found and recommendations
- Follows up on corrective actions
- Ensures that audit findings are systematically documented in the working papers
- Carries out audits as identified in the risk model and prioritises audits according to risk model
**Undertakes special projects**
- Plans and undertakes fieldwork in respect of special audit assignments (ad-hoc audits) outside of normal internal audit coverage plan and delivers output, including reporting and discussion of findings.
**Self-Development**
- Ensures own efficiency through self-development program, literature and discussions with external auditors and contact with peers of other institutions
- Takes responsibility and accountability for own productivity to ensure maximum utilisation.
**Minimum Requirements: Qualification**
- BCom or accepted audit qualification
**Minimum Requirements: Experience**
- 2 years audit experience, working knowledge of BarnOwl software or similar packages.
- Implementation of software is an added advantage.
