My client is urgently recruiting for an **Assistant Management Couple (Mechanical / Maintenance Manager and FOH / Housekeeping Manager)** for this private use, 2451 hectare Big Five conservation reserve where wildlife roams freely across the unfenced borders with the Kruger National Park (on Northern boundary), and the Klaserie and Timbavati Private Nature Reserves (to the West and South) - in total, an unfenced wilderness area of over 2 million hectares. It is home to natural game movement, magnificent Lowveld trees and an abundance of birdlife.

**Outline and scope of responsibilities for the Management couple**

**HE: Mechanical and Maintenance Manager**

**Responsible to: Reserve Manager**

**Subordinates: Workshop staff, tractor drivers, water reticulation staff, maintenance crew, general labourers, and gardeners.**

**Requirements**:

- Matric
- Tertiary Qualification: Motor Mechanical / Auto Mechanical - Preferred
- Long Term previous experience - Safari Lodge / Reserve maintenance
- Vehicle Maintenance and Fleet Management
- Electrical
- Plumbing
- Boreholes - Water reticulation
- Basic / Small construction
- Roads Maintenance

**Scope of Position**

**Mechanical and Maintenance Manager will be responsible to the Reserve Manager and his duties will include the following**:

- Perform timely quality service and repairs to members’ vehicles.
- Proactively maintain all reserve mechanical assets and equipment.
- Proactively maintain members’ units/houses.
- Ensure 100% up-time of borehole pumps.
- Undertake routine monitoring and stock takes of relevant supply of consumables to ensure satisfactory inventory for example. Fuel, maintenance stock, spares and so on.
- Place orders for necessary supplies, once approved by the Reserve Manager.
- Effectively produce and manage reports including rollcalls, tardiness, absenteeism, leave and overtime.
- Effectively deputize for the Reserve Manager in his absence.
- Produce timely and accurate logs, paperwork, reports regarding reserve status and members work in progress (WIP).
- Proactively maintain all reserve infrastructure.
- Establish effective channels of communication with members regarding their vehicles and unit/house upkeep.
- Proactively manage all subordinate staff and provide regular documented appraisals.
- Effectively train all subordinate staff.
- Maintain a neat and safe working environment.
- Comply with Health and Safety requirements.

**SHE**:
**Housekeeping / Front of House Manager**

**Responsible to: Administration Manager / Reserve Manager**

**Direct Subordinates: Housekeeping Staff / Front Office Staff**

**Scope of Position**:

- Manage in conjunction with the Administration Manager, the front office administration and communication in an accurate, professional and friendly manner.
- Manage in conjunction with the Administration Manager the onsite shop for members and staff in an efficient, accurate and professional manner.
- Effectively Deputise in the absence of the Administration Manager to ensure member house cleans and cleaning services are continued in a planned, neat, professional manner. Visual inspection imperative.
- Perform ad hoc assignments as requested by the Reserve Manager and Administration Manager
- Plan and perform timely quality service to members in the cleaning of their houses/units.
- Plan and manage an efficient cleaning service for members.
- Manage an efficient, quality laundry service for members.
- Proactively maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness of the reserve buildings.
- Proactively manage all subordinate staff and provide regular documented appraisals.
- Maintain an effective training programme for the development of all subordinate staff.
- Professionally facilitate all office communication i.e. typing, reports, orders etc.
- Undertake routine monitoring of relevant supplies to ensure satisfactory stock control e.g. shop, cleaning materials.
- Manage, in conjunction with the Administration Manager, the front office and related administration functions in an accurate, professional and friendly manner
- Maintain an up to date and reliable filing and archiving system.
- Operate an efficient and accurate booking in and checking out system for the members with appropriate billing.
- Perform ad hoc assignments as requested by the Reserve Manager and / or Administration Manager.
- Create a meaningful and effective channel of communication with members regarding their unit/house
