**Minimum requirements**:

- Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
- N2, with Engineering Mathematics, Engineering Science and Trade Theory (Advantageous)
- Must be able to do repetitive work quickly and methodically
- Must be able to read and complete basic QCP’s (Quality Control Plans)
- Be fully conversant in English


- At least 4 years’ experience as an Engineering Assistant, i.e. Fitter / Diesel Mechanic
- Relevant working experience in earthmoving and trackless mining equipment workshops
- Relevant rebuild experience in earthmoving and trackless mining equipment
- Must be able to operate a mechanical and hydraulic pipe bender
- Knowledge of different hydraulic fittings and components
- Must be able to measure and bend a pipe from a sample
- Must have the ability read a basic hydraulic schematic
- Must be able to fit hydraulic and mechanical components on machines
- Must be fit to work underground and must not have a criminal record

- Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, specifications and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools and materials
- Positions parts and subassemblies by using template or reading measurements and installation/assembly instructions
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies
- Verifies specifications by measuring complete component
- Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer’s instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations
- Documents actions by completing production and quality forms
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
