- **PURPOSE OF THE POSITION AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**_
The purpose of this position is to assist the Branch/Departmental Manager with some of the management functions and members (clients) with legal advice and paralegal solutions to common problems, within the parameters set by the Company and the Scorpion Legal Protection Membership Agreement. In addition, to support the department(s) in streamlining day to day legal quality controls and staff support.
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
**Auditing and assessment of case files after first consultation.**
Ensuring that correct legal advice and correct assistance is provided to
clients at first consultation to ensure proper and quality service of clients.
**Audit and assessment of routine case files.**
Ensuring that correct legal advice and correct assistance is provided to
clients to ensure proper and quality service of clients.
**Act as Case and Diary Manager for all Legal Counsellors.**
Ensuring that all case files are maintained and regularly updated as per
company policies and procedures.
**Act as Regional Internal Auditor on ad hoc basis as directed by the Regional Manager.**
Auditing and assessing case files as directed.
**Act as Legal Counsellor to clients**
Attending to clients and providing legal advice and assistance
**Attending to Customer complaints**
Attending to complaints in accordance with Complaints Handling
Policy & Procedure, Pinnacle SLAs, and any other internal company
policies such as Best Practices, EO Communications etc.
**Members / Claimants Interviews**
To obtain objective feedback from members / Claimants on the service
delivery of the branch/dept. Interview must be documented and evidence
presented to Line Manager / RM.
**Compliments project**
To obtain compliments from staff weekly. Verify that there is a valid written
compliment and submit to managers.
- **MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND GENERAL WORKING CONDITIONS**_
**Education**
Must have Matric (Grade 12); and completed legal degree (LLB or B Proc, B Juris,
BLC or B Com/BA Law)
**Experience**
**Admitted attorneys** - 2 years relevant/legal post article experience.
**Legal graduates** (not admitted attorneys) - 4 years relevant/legal post-graduate
experience.
Have all round legal knowledge and experience in the following fields of law but
not limited to, Property, Wills, Labour, Contracts and Motor vehicle matters
Must have the ability to conduct presentations.
**Other**
Must be computer literate; specifically, proficient in MS Word, MS and Outlook.
**General working conditions**
Regular office environment and no health and safety risks involved.
Must be prepared to travel from time to time.
