Enterprise Risk Manager

What will you do?

Enterprise Risk Management has a position available for a Risk Manager who will be based in Bellville.

**The Risk Manager will support the Head**: ERM to monitor the overall risk profile of Santam, by enabling the identification of emerging risks in daily operation of the business. This will be achieved by providing oversight in the form of frameworks, policies, tools, and techniques to support appropriate risk management and control in the first line. Appropriate challenge is required to ensure that management has implemented the control framework appropriately, and that it operates effectively. What will make you successful in this role?

Assist Santam business units in embedding a risk management process to identify, mitigate, monitor, report and escalate key strategic and operational risks within the parameters of the Boards risk appetite.
Support the Head of ERM in monitoring Santam’s risk profile to ensure that key risks are managed, relevant action taken and adequate controls have been implemented by management.
Overall coordination and aggregation of all key risks within Santam for Risk Committee reporting purposes in order to provide a summary and overview of Santam’s key risks
Developing risk indicators to pro-actively identify risks and/or to act as early warning signs of events that may occur or risks that are not managed within predefined thresholds.
Obtain a good understanding of the external and internal business environment, including strategic and operational goals in order to evaluate and identify any new and emerging risks
Obtain and aggregate loss events occurring throughout the Santam group.
Manage and implement Risk Management Software and ensure alignment with the Sanlam Group Framework. This includes the full cycle of development and customisation, maintenance, testing, implementation, configuration, rollout and enhancement of the ERM software in support of the ERM function. A key success factor will be the design and implementation of reporting to ensure aggregation and integration. Qualification and Experience

Business Commerce degree or equivalent.
Risk management qualification.
5 years ERM experience preferred (with solid operational risk management experience).
Risk management software experience (using and implementation).
Experience in Business Continuity Management and Combined Assurance would be an advantage. Skills
