**1.** **Job Purpose**
- To create simple high-quality CAD designs for presentation to the customer by Sales Coordinator
- Understanding the limitations of branding on stock items to limit shortcomings and trouble shoot problems
- Conducts research for reference and trend updates
- Communicate delays to timelines to HEAD OF DESIGN to resolve backlogged work
**2. Key Result Areas**
- Delivery of 100% correct innovative and quality artwork (CAD) and specification sheets against a brief received
- Clear and concise communication between all departments within the company
- Lead times met within the design process
- Timeous delivery of any changes to artwork to facilitate on time delivery of the order
**3. Printing Process**
- Delivery of 100% correct innovative and quality artwork (CAD) and specification
- All print ready files correctly prepared and on time
- Ensure all artwork is at the highest resolution possible
- Ensure sizing of artwork/patterns are correct
- Ensure all correct templates are used
- Ensure all rotary artwork is set up correctly to ensure no repeat lines occur during the printing stage
**4. Design Process**
- Ensure all artwork is sent to its respective department in the correct format & provided server
**5. Key Skills, Knowledge and Experience**
- **Relevant Tertiary Qualification**: A Bachelor's or Associate's degree / diploma in **Graphic Design**, or a related field is preferred.
- **Portfolio**: A comprehensive portfolio showcasing relevant design projects, technical flats, print development, and graphic work is critical for demonstrating capability.
- **Industry Experience**: 2 - 5 Years' prior experience or internships in the apparel, têxtile, or fashion industry is essential.
- **Adobe Creative Suite**:Expert proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop**:
- **Textile and Print Knowledge**: A strong understanding of different **fabric types, têxtile construction (weaves, knits), and various printing/embellishment techniques** (e.g., screen printing, digital printing, embroidery, jacquards).
- **Garment Construction**: Fundamental knowledge of how garments are sewn and assembled. Familiar with headwear products
- **Color Management**: Proficiency in color matching, converting colors to industry standards (like **Pantone or CSI colors**), and creating color separations for production.
- **Pattern Repeats and Layouts**: Ability to create and clean up artwork to be set in a seamless **repeat pattern** for all-over prints, and to correctly size and place graphics for production.
- **Fashion Trends and Market**: Awareness of current and future fashion trends, consumer preferences, and brand aesthetics to ensure designs are relevant and commercially viable.
- **Creativity and Originality**: The ability to conceptualize unique and innovative designs (prints and graphics) that align with the brand's vision.
- **Attention to Detail and Accuracy**: Meticulous precision is vital for creating accurate technical sketches, patterns, and production-ready artwork to minimize errors in manufacturing.
- **Communication**: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to clearly articulate design ideas, provide detailed instructions to factories, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams (e.g., designers, technical designers, product developers, and merchandisers).
- **Time Management & Organization**: Ability to work efficiently on multiple projects, adhere to strict production deadlines, and maintain organized digital libraries of prints, CADs, and tech packs.
- **Problem-Solving**: Capability to anticipate and solve design and production-related challenges, such as adjusting designs to meet factory limitations or cost targets.
Pay: R10 000,00 - R18 000,00 per month
