CNC Programmer

- **Summary of role**:_Computer numerically controlled (CNC) Programmer will operate the factory machines that turn raw materials into functional objects. Take responsibility for reading and interpreting design blueprints, programming the CNC machine, and adjusting the machine settings until the desired specifications are met.

**Duties & Responsibilities**
Ensure that all required CNC programs been written and verified prior to being needed by production.

Conduct proper production planning in advance to ensure that all required CNC programs are written and loaded on the relevant CNC machine prior to being needed by production prior to the planned commencement date.

Ensure that all the relevant tooling is available and on stock for each CNC.

This will include ensuring that the correct tooling is used for the relevant job performed and CNC used.

Conduct regular checks on all tooling to ensure their “Fit for use” for production.

Ensure that the required machining Jigs are produced and available and verified at the relevant CNC prior to the relevant commencement date in production.

Conduct regular checks on all Machining Jigs to ensure their “Fit for use” for production.

Provide Production Support, to the department; as and when required.

Conduct regular maintenance checks on all CNC machines to ensure they are in an operating order for production.

Ensure that all maintenance issues identified are reported immediately as to avoid any unforeseen downtime.

Ensure the general neatness of the CNC machinery.

**Desired Experience & Qualification**
Completed matric or Trade Test

Relevant qualification (beneficial)

At least 3 years relevant experience

Ability to read and interpret design blueprints.

Extensive experience with computer modeling software.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to work independently and stick to deadlines.

Ability to stand for extended periods.

Ability to lift heavy objects.

Ability to work after-hours when required.
