**Sub Saharan Africa Supply Chain Operations Lead (Associate Director)**

Our Supply Chain team ensures inventory is consistently available to meet customer demand. We coordinate all aspects of supply through supply planning, sourcing, inventory management, storage and delivery. We partner across the Marketing,Quality, Finance, Regulatory and External Manufacturing organizations to build a robust demand and supply plan and ensure we get products to the right customer, at the right place and at the right time.

**The position**

Reporting to the Supply Chain Operations (SCO) EEMEA Director, the Sub Saharan SCO Lead (Associate Director) is primarily responsible to coordinate all in market distribution and demand activities, maintain quality compliance and managing all SCM related Logistics / Customs and Demand operations for the South Africa Market and English Portuguese Africa (EPA) distributors.

The position builds and maintains relationships with the relevant internal stakeholders such as Commercial Operations, IMQ (In Market Quality), Regulatory, Finance, Demand Fulfilment and External Manufacturing and manages and coaches a team of 3-4 employees.

The SCO Lead for Sub Saharan Africa is primarily accountable for sourcing, selecting and maintain a compliant and cost oriented contract management relationship with the Organon approved 3PLs who guarantees a flawless management, from inbound to delivery of pharmaceutical products & API.

He / She is accountable for the compliant execution of all operations carried out by the entitled 3PL and by his / her direct reports belonging to the SCO team according to EHS, Quality and Security standards set by Organon local or global regulations.

The position acts as primary contact for the 3rd party logistics service providers that the local subsidiary uses for in market and export (EPA) distribution and custom clearance. He/she coordinates warehousing and distribution and related services, costs, and budget. He/she takes care of demand forecast, S&OP, supply of products and looks after inventory management in conjunction of the Regional Demand Fulfilment team during the weekly call (Tier 2). This is all done with the objective to reach supply availability at optimal cost, ensuring the best possible supply chain performance in compliance with established guidelines and procedures.

**Main responsibilities**

**Organization Management**
- Responsible for the recruiting, development and leadership of an engaged team of colleagues performing in an inclusive and open work environment
- Accountable for developing or augmenting needed capabilities and related training for colleagues in his/her organization
- Accountable for colleagues performance management, succession planning and human resources processes while ensuring compliance with required regulations and practices

**Logistics Operations **(Customs / Inbound Transportation / Distribution / Logistics)**:

- Develop and achieve operating budgets seeking continuous process and cost improvement
- Responsible for performing local network analysis, identifying and implementing required logistics/supply solutions to support business strategies.
- Monitor the 3PL’ s operational performance and compliance against agreed service levels and implement required corrective actions when necessary
- Work with the 3PLs to assure inventory accuracy is maintained via execution of cycle counts, annual physical inventory activities, daily Inventory Reconciliation discrepancy analysis and resolution according to our compliance standards
- ERP system and functioning oversight
- Setting up, monitoring and reporting KPI’s for service functions like Monthly Business Review (MBR) with 3PL as required to keep track of performance and progress, resolve any ongoing issues and look for continual improvement opportunities
- Collaboration with IMQ (In-Market Quality) in monitoring supplier performance

**Demand & Supply**
- Ensure that the team develops an accurate demand plan and an optimized supply plan for all FIGOs based on the business needs and the capacity of the supply chain
- Develop strategic approaches on SCO processes to maximize LIFR (Line in Full Rate), minimize IQV and minimize the Supply Chain costs (Logistics, Import, Purchasing)
- Monitor, track and report demand availability and supply through Tier Reviews as well as Demand review meetings with Internal Marketing teams
- Execute Plans for new products and product changes in alignment with Business and Regional Supply
- Lead the Monthly Demand Review & S&OP
- Acts as the point of contact for any supply planning related initiative/topic for the sites (e.g. internal / external SLAs) and advises on opportunities to improve the supply chain in a broader sense (Collaborative Planning, SC Analytics, Network optimization)
