**Purpose**:

- Responsible for the overall planning and purchasing of direct raw material for the plant and management of the plant’s inventory value.
- To plan and maintain daily Supply Chain operations in one or more functional areas such as materials, production, inventory, demand management or order fulfilment.
- Ensures internal and external customers' expectations and requirements are met.
- Adjust/optimise and manage the parameters in the material planning system.
- Utilise the Material Requirements Planning system (MRP), Forward ERP and other reporting tools that are in place and ensure that data is accurate and up to date and resolve any issues as required.
- Forecasting Material Requirements and communicate the forecast to suppliers.
- Schedule the supply of materials/components to meet production requirements and minimum safety stock levels.
- Understand and manage risks to minimise impact on production schedule.
- Take follow up actions in relation to material shortages that affect production.
- Finalizing and Placing Purchase Orders for the required Material.
- Receiving and coordinating documents to receiving clerk and to Finance for payment.
- Analyse and interpret Key Performance Indicators to identify areas for improvement and action plans.
- Execute the daily operational planning process within a specified functional area.
- Work closely with stakeholders - internal and/or external to develop short/long term tactical improvements.
- Participate in functional process improvement teams.
- Monitor the integrity of Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage inventory accuracy.
- Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.
- Indicate the volumes required and the date that the material needs to be on site.
- Analyze excess and obsolesce inventory on a month-to-month basis.
- Support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy.
- Minimise obsolete stock and ensure business is left with minimum liability.
- Expedite and manage supplier order book.**Inherent Requirements**

**Qualifications**:

- Grade 12.
- National Diploma or Degree in Purchase and or Supply Chain Management
