Engineering Supervisor

Our client has an opportunity available for an Engineering Supervisor based in Potchefstroom.

**Requirements**:

- Matric
- Degree or National diploma in Engineering or a related field.
- Qualified Engineer.
- SAP knowledge would be advantageous.
- 5 to 7+ years’ experience in an Engineering field.
- Prior experience in a FMCG environment.
- Good knowledge of modern asset care principles.
- Knowledge and involvement in NOSA Systems.
- 2 to 3 years as a Packaging or Brewing and Utilities Engineer.
- Understanding of health, safety and environmental compliance.

**Responsibilities**:

- Manage systems and controls by optimising and monitoring changes.
- Develop and implement planned scheduled maintenance of the plant’s machinery and equipment.
- Ensure that there is adequate available steam, electricity, water and compressed air at all times.
- Ensure stand by equipment is in place and always in working order.
- Develop and maintain an asset register of plant machinery.
- Liaise with the Logistics department on minimum stock levels for stocked items.
- Ensure the confidentiality of all proprietary information in all forms.
- Be a leader in Environmental, Health and Safety in order to champion and promote occupational health and safety awareness in the workplace.
- Liaise with Production Manager to monitor coal usage on a regular basis to ascertain the efficient use of coal and combustion levels.
- Check the usage of water and electricity by taking readings of meters available at each point of distribution.
- Counter sign the job requisitions and drawing spares from stores.
- Ensure that the correct protective gears are always worn within the plant as duties are carried out.
- Ensure safety, healthy & environmental legislation compliance.
- Identification of unsafe practices and ensuring all safety measures are adhered to.
