**Synopsis**
The Infrastructure Project Delivery programme is aimed at ensuring that Infrastructure South Africa (ISA) provides requisite Technical Support to Project Sponsors and Implementing Agents (IA’s) on the priority and catalytic social and infrastructure projects and programmes.

**Job Description** JOB PURPOSE**:
The focus of the programme is to accelerate priority infrastructure focusing on local government infrastructure projects (municipal water and sanitation) and national programmes such as rural bridges, schools, provincial roads and state buildings/precinct. This position focuses on conducting site investigations, analysing data and providing construction management support to ISA clients and stakeholders.

**Qualification and Experience** QUALIFICATIONS**:

- BEng in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Quantity/Land Surveying or other relevant qualification
- Registered Professional with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) and the South African Council for the Project and Construction Management Professions (SACPCMP)
- Post graduate qualifications will be an added advantage

**EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE**:

- 8 -10 years working experience as a construction manager with clear track records of successfully completed projects/programmes.
- Knowledge and experience in the delivery of municipal and provincial infrastructure (water and sanitation, roads and bridges, clinics and hospitals)
- Knowledge and understanding of ISO 9001 and 14001
- Knowledge and experience of computer skills (e.g., MS Office) including project management softwares

**Roles and Responsibilities** KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Conduct construction site supervision and manage site operations
- Ensure all construction activities are performed in accordance with the terms of agreement and specifications; obtains required approvals for any changes to designs, specifications, and scopes of work
- Support the planning and designing the programme and proactively monitoring its progress, resolving issues and initiating appropriate corrective action
- Recommend corrective actions to resolve problems during construction. Works independently and reviews construction reports to ensure compliance with the terms and conditions of the award/contract.
- Review periodic payment invoices and recommends disbursement of funds; monitors project schedules, budgets and resource plans to ensure that projects adhere to schedule and budget and advises of any deviations from the approved project work plan; Recommends concurrence with variations, change orders or contract amendments;
- Assess potential construction risks on site
- Ensure compliance with quality and safety
- Manage budget and construction schedule
- Liaise between engineers, quantity surveyors and other working on projects
- Respond to potential and actual work delays, emergencies and other work disruptions
- Support infrastructure authorities in the introduction of infrastructure portfolio management for improved delivery.
