**OVERVIEW**:
We are seeking to employ a dependable Store Assistant to join our company. Store Assistant is responsible for managing the storage and safekeeping of goods in a store or warehouse. They receive goods from suppliers, check the goods for damage and store it appropriately. They track the movement of goods and are responsible for all paperwork relating to the receiving and dispatching of goods

**JOB PURPOSE**:
The core purpose of a store assistant position is to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of goods within a warehouse or storage facility. They achieve this by performing a variety of tasks centred around:

- **Ensuring efficient operations**: Maintaining inventory, handling transactions, and keeping the store organized contributes to the smooth running of the municipal store.
- **Maintaining a smooth-running and efficient store operation**: Ensuring the store environment is clean, organized. Store assistants restock shelves, keep displays up to date, handle minor administrative tasks, and report any issues to supervisors.

**PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE**
- Grade 12 or equivalent qualifications
- Material Management Certificate, or equivalent (advantageous)
- 2 - 5 Years experience working a store assistant
- Adhering to stores operating procedures, to achieve efficiency in the store under the guidance of the Supervisor
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming store environment.
- Restocking shelves and ensuring proper inventory levels of municipal forms, brochures, and any other products sold by the store.
- Keeping displays informative and visually appealing.
- Assisting with minor tasks like photocopying or faxing documents (if applicable).
- May be involved in some light filing or data entry tasks to maintain store records (depending on the storeroom's setup).
- Following all municipal health and safety regulations.
- Reporting any damaged products, stock discrepancies, or maintenance concerns to a supervisor.
- Maintaining a positive and professional demeanor while representing the municipality.
