**Description**

ChemgroupSA is a leading chemical manufacturing company with branches across Durban and Johannesburg. We are currently recruiting for an operational individual to join our team based at **Mariann Industrial Park, Pinetown**.

The purpose of this position is to ensure that all employees are provided with adequate safety training and information. Provide Leadership in developing measures and practices that prevent accidents and ensure compliance with OSHA Standards, ISO standards as well as Company policy and procedures.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensure that management and staff practice compliance with OSHA and ISO Standards
- Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace
- Prepare and enforce policies to establish a culture of health and safety
- Evaluate practices, procedures, and facilities to assess and reduce risk
- Conduct Training and presentations for health and safety as well as ISO Matters, accident prevention
- Monitor and report on compliance to policies, laws, and ISO Requirements by inspections to the operations and employees
- Inspect equipment and machinery to observe possible unsafe conditions
- Conduct investigations and root cause analysis for incidents and workman compensation claims
- Recommend solutions, improvements, and new prevention measures
- Report on health and safety awareness, issues, and statistics
- Provide reports and analysis where required on conformances to standards
- Manage ISO / Safety Audits and audit preparations
- Ensure that ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45000 requirements are complied with
- Ensure that Safety Data sheets are provided and filled correctly
- Material safety sheets available and stored correctly
- Ensure that all employees are wearing and issued with the correct PPE
- Ensure that safety training is conducted, and the required training forms are completed and filed in their employee files (Firefighting, first aiding, forklift etc.)
- Ensure that materials are stored correctly according to safety requirements
- Make sure that the company complies with the required storage and stacking legislations
- Manage Health and safety committee and meetings

**Requirements**:

- Tertiary Education in Safety / ISO
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Experience with ISO Standards
- Must have exposure in the Chemical / Petroleum Sectors
- **MUST BE ABLE TO START ASAP**
- **MUST BE ABLE TO MAKE THE COMMUTE DAILY.**

**Normal Working Hours: 07:30am to 16:30pm (Monday to Thursday) and 07:30am to 16:00pm (Friday)**

**Salary**: R8,000.00 - R10,000.00 per month
