Agricultural Economist

**Introduction to the VKB Group**

**Requirements**:

- Qualification in Agricultural Economics: BSc Agricultural Economics, BCom (Agricultural Economics); BCom Financial Management with Agricultural Economics.
- RE5 is not a requirement but would be beneficial.
- Practical knowledge of the National Credit Act.
- Similar role fulfilled within Agricultural businesses, Commercial Banks, Development Financing Institutions.
- Financial modeling of client needs.
- 3-5 years of relevant experience.
- Preparation and motivation of credit recommendations.
- Structuring of transactions with recommendations to selection mandates and/or credit committees.
- Willingness to travel.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.

**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Provide comprehensive Agricultural Economic and advisory services.
- Conduct feasibility studies within the Financing department.
- Compilation of risk reports and credit evaluations.
- Development and implementation of cash flow models.
- Compilation and maintenance of production standards within the service area.
- Client liaison and visits.
- Participation in study groups.
- Involvement in the development and training of colleagues within the department.
