POSITION: FITTER

About the Position:
We are looking for a Fitter, to to perform fitting planning, installation, repairs / replacement, and maintenance duties

Working Conditions:
Contract type: Permanent

Overtime hours are not applicable

Shift: Monday to Friday (07:00 to 15:30)

Saturday (07:00 to 12:00)

Public Holidays (07:00 to 15:30)

Number of positions: One (1)

Location of position: Kya Sands, Johannesburg

The position will be responsible for:
Repairs and maintain bakery machinery and equipment such as ovens, conveyors and slicing and packaging machines

Examine machines and equipment to locate hand tools

Dismantles machines using wrenches, pliers, and other hand tools

Replaces defective parts, adjusting timing gears, sets dies according to specifications and repairs or replaces belts, conveyor sections and feeding devices using hand tools, portable electric drills, grinders, gas, and electric welding equipment.

Completes maintenance jobs in priority order of food safety, employee’s safety, and equipment reliability using the highest standard tools of efficiency

Sharpens and installs cutting blades in slicing machine

Assemble machines

Interacts with all other departments to ensure the proper functioning of all equipment of all equipment in the facility

Develop and implement both emergency and ongoing work order system for repairs

Starts machines and observe gouges and other instruments to ensure adherence to processing standards

Cleans and lubricates equipment using rags, brushes, and grease gun

Operate machine tools to make or repair parts

Be available for end of the month stock takes

Communicate with the necessary department departments heads

Report faulty equipment to the HOD’s of your department

Adhere to Company policies, safety regulations and risk assessments

Check that all work done adheres to the quality/ standard that is expected by Lupo Bakery

Maintain excellent levels of housekeeping

Maintain and record job cards

Ensure the highest standards of quality control are achieved within the department

**Requirements**:
To be successful in this role you will need to meet the below requirements:

- Grade 12
- Relevant Maintanace certification or related
- Minimum 3 years Fitter experience of electrical fault-finding, hydraulics and general service and maintenance
- Manufacturing industry exposure
- Excellent organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize important projects.
- Work well under pressure
- Be able to multitask
- Great time management skills
