Technical Operations Manager - Renewable Energy SystemsAbout Us

We are a leading renewable energy solutions provider, established in 2011, specializing in residential and commercial solar power systems, water heat pumps, and battery backup solutions. With over a decade of experience, we deliver turnkey renewable energy installations across domestic, industrial, agricultural, and hospitality sectors in the Western Cape.

Role Overview

We're seeking an experienced Technical Operations Manager to lead our installation teams and drive operational excellence. This hands-on leadership role combines technical expertise with operational management to ensure high-quality installations and customer satisfaction.

Key ResponsibilitiesTechnical Leadership
- Oversee multiple installation teams executing solar PV, water heating, and battery backup projects
- Conduct site assessments and quality control inspections
- Provide technical troubleshooting support, including inverter configuration and system optimization
- Develop and maintain installation standards and best practices
- Train and upskill installation teams on new technologies and procedures

Operations Management
- Drive operational efficiency while maintaining high quality standards
- Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and team deployment
- Implement and monitor KPIs for installation quality and team performance
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards
- Optimize inventory management and equipment utilization

Team Development
- Lead, mentor, and grow a team of skilled installers
- Recruit and train new team members
- Foster a culture of safety and technical excellence
- Coordinate with contractors and external partners

RequirementsEssential Qualifications
- 2+ years operations management experience
- Proven experience in renewable energy systems installation
- Strong technical background in solar PV and battery systems
- Proven experience working on sites and in building industry
- Valid driver's license and own reliable transport
- Electrical qualification with relevant certification - Ideal

Preferred Qualifications
- Red Seal certification or Engineering qualification
- Experience with PV design software and monitoring systems
