This includes planning workflow and ensuring deadlines are met. - **Safety and equipment checks**: The manager conducts or supervises checks on all machinery and equipment to ensure it is in good working order. They address any maintenance issues, check tank lining and filters, and verify electrical connections. - **Process verification**: A key responsibility is testing the plating solutions in the production tanks. The manager ensures the chemical compositions, temperatures, and voltages are all within the required specifications for optimal coating. - **Surface preparation overview**: The manager oversees the critical first step of surface preparation, making sure that parts are properly cleaned. This prevents defects. - **Client Relations**:The manager would book in jobs, work out quotes and keep customers updated on orders. - **Hands-on floor management**: Metal coating is a "hands-on" role, so the manager spends significant time on the factory floor, working directly with operators.
