Cloud Architect

**Job Description**:
You will engage with the following stakeholders:
**Internal Stakeholders**
- Internal Management
- Business Development Teams
- Business Project Teams
- Solution business/product owner
- Domain, Application, Data, Technology, Enterprise and Security Architects
- Solution Architects (in project mode)
- Services Architect (including API and micro-services)
- Integration Architect (technical infrastructure /platform)

**External Stakeholders**
- Security, interface and external micro-services certification vendors
- Internal governance bodies such as ARB, EDA, CAB, etc.

**Your key responsibilities include**:
**Cloud Adoption**
- Determine the need for cloud infrastructure and manage its adoption.
- Managing the cultural change in the organization that comes with changing infrastructure, employee roles and procedures

**Vendor Management**
- Communicate effectively with cloud providers and third parties that are involved in the program.

**Cloud Architecture Development**

**Cloud Management and Monitoring**
- Maintain the architecture and monitor its performance according to business objectives.
- Act as a Subject Matter Expert to the organization for cloud end-to-end architecture, including BSA preferred platform solutions and services, networking, provisioning, and platform management
- Develop a library of deployable and documented cloud design patterns, based on the BSA preferred cloud portfolio management architecture and solutions, as a basis for deploying services to the cloud
- Demonstrate leadership ability to back decisions with research and the “why,” and articulate several options, the pros and cons for each, and a recommendation
- Maintain overall industry knowledge on latest trends, technology, etc. and actively share such by participating in BSA Chapters and Guilds
- Develop/contribute to solution architecture and evaluate architectural alternatives for private, public and hybrid cloud models, including IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services
- Contribute, direct and monitor DevSecOps development activities and complex development tasks
- Ensure delivered solutions meet/perform to technical and functional/non-functional requirements
- Ensure delivered solutions are realized in time frame committed; work in conjunction with project sponsors and product owners to size and manage scope, quality and risk

**Consultation**
- Provide technical expertise and ownership in the diagnosis and resolution of an issue, including the determination and provision of workaround solution or escalation to service owners
- Provide support and technical governance, expertise related to cloud architectures, deployment, and operations
- Conduct product work reviews with team members

**Thought Leadership**
- Advocate and define cloud architecture vision from a strategic perspective, including internal and external platforms, tools, and systems
- Provide thought leadership in industry and to fellow team members across business and technical project dimensions solving complex business requirements
- Demonstrate forward thinking around where the organization is going and how technology can support these efforts
- Lead the definition and development of cloud reference architecture and management systems

**QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE**
- Bachelor’s degree in Informatics or Computer Science, systems analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience (supported by a verifiable Portfolio of Evidence)
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect
- EA design and implementation knowledge across domains, including policies, frameworks and standards
- Proven knowledge of all components of a cloud based technical architecture
- Knowledge of business process re-engineering principles and processes

**EXPERIENCE**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Technology and/or Cloud Architecture
- EA and banking industry capability frameworks and operating model constructs
- Infrastructure and cloud platform construct engineering and design
- Cloud platform architecture constructs, both functional and non-functional
- Cloud-based platform development and life cycle management practices
- Information and data resource management constructs and practices
- DevSecOps methods and practices
- System and platform security measures
- Database design and management
- Proven experience with AWS and VMWare enterprise implementations
- Proven exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
- Strong understanding of SOA, object-oriented analysis and design, and/or client/server systems
- Experience in research and academic work relevant to cloud technologies - advantage
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Pivotal Cloud Foundry Docker, OpenStack, and Public cloud delivery know-how with AWS and/or Azure
- Experience with cloud migration, as well as experience with OpenStack, Linux, Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, DevOps, NoSQL etc.
