- To be a thought leader in both strategy and innovation with the evaluation of existing technologies, as well as the development of strategic solutions and blueprints to solve stated business challeng and perform architectural analysis, design and deliver based on collaboration with various business stakeholders.**Responsibilities**:

- Influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders and Asset and Journey owners to proliferate the correct DevOps practices and contribute to improving the DevOps maturity within the Enterprise.
- Influence and collaborate with Asset and Journeys (and individual squads) to improve value delivery and mature DevOps practices. Delivery includes the creation of custom roadmaps and strategies based on varying technology stacs, individual team skill exposure, and organisation targets.
- Coach critical role players on identified DevOps practices and architect and design software development pipelines. Embed the YBIYRI philosophy and better equip Nedbank to achieve its digital first strategy.
- Engage with vendors to optimise Nedbank's DevOps spend and make full use of services available. Initiate conversations to create a robust fit-for-purpose DevOps technical landscape.
- Identify gaps in value delivery and implement solutions to create more efficient and robust processes.
- Foster innovation within the DevOps COE and other teams, serving as an ambassador for the DevOps practices by way of conduct.
- Serve as a senior technical specialist and problem solver, creating technical solutions to solve business problems.
- Lead and guide (technical and non-technical challenges) junior DevOps coaches and other team members.
- Use of version control and the ability to create and maintain a versioning strategy.
- Coach squads in the design, building and maintenance of CI and CD pipelines to operationalise efficient flow of software from code to production, while adopting and aligning to Nedbank target Enterprise toolchain.
- Understand and implement IaaS, PaaS and SaaS solutions.
- Lead the creation of BizDevOps patterns and practices for the Enterprise. This includes innovation work embarked on to keep abreast with technology trends that provide Nedbank with a competitive advantage.
- Lead the creation of reusable artifacts for consumption by the squad teams and the DevOps COE.
- Lead the design and/or development, testing and evaluation of systems and infrastructure (IAC)
- Facilitate scoping of work with asset teams and reporting that accelerates the squad's journeys.
- Ensure understanding and compliance with information management, data integrity and security policies and best practices.
- Assess team's DevOps maturity, create a strategy and implement steps to assist with improving on maturity over a period of time. Regular reporting and feedback to all stakeholders.
- Manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups or activities, making effective judgements as to prioritization and time allocation.
- Align with Nedbank's strategy at all times and deliver solutions that aid this.
- Maintain and facilitate compliance with company, security and regulatory standards.
- Keep abreast with developments in field of expertise.
- Ensure personal growth and enable effectiveness in the performance of roles and responsibilities, including acquiring necessary certifications and training.
- Contribute to the Nedbank culture building initiatives.
- Participate and support corporate responsibility initiatives for the achievement of business strategy.
- Influence journey to cloud consumption services.
- Implement technical improvements and improve the asset teams technical environment by self implementing solutions as are needed

**Essential Qualifications - NQF Level**
- Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees

**Preferred Qualification**
- Degree in computer science, math or software engineering / Equivalent technical experience in industry

**Essential Certifications**
- Foundation cloud certifications: AZ900/ AWS Cloud Practitioner

**Preferred Certifications**
- AZ204/ 104
- Azure DevOps Certified (DevOps Engineer / Solutions Architect certified)
- Cloud certification is preferred above fundamentals.
- SAFe for DevOps

**Minimum Experience Level**
- Experience with cloud platforms (Azure/AWS) is essential.
- 10+ years as a Software Developer in either or all of the following: Web development, Windows Services development, Mobile development, Application development, Back-end development, cloud computing. OR
- 10+ years as a Systems Administrator on multiple platforms on-premises and in the cloud
