Oversight of the procurement of essential medicines and surgical supplies under the guidance of the group Pharmacy Manager. To contribute to the strategic planning and procurement process by establishing both short and long-term goals for the Group’s Pharmaceutical Services. Skill in price reviews and price negotiations will be an advantage. Devising fruitful procurement and sourcing strategies and initiating procurement partnerships.

**Minimum Qualifications and Experience**:

- Pharm degree.
- Current Registration with the South African Pharmacy Council as a Pharmacist.
- 7 years’ experience as a pharmacist of which three (3) years must be in pharmaceutical procurement.
- A broad experience in pharmaceutical systems (Dispensing systems, procurement systems and inventory management systems.
- Understanding of Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Forecasting and Demand Planning.
- Ability to engage Suppliers for price negotiations.
- Data collection and analysis / Trend analysis.

***Minimum Job Requirements**:

- Coordination of the development of the CHG medicine and surgical supplies formulary.
- Participation in price review meetings and price negotiations with suppliers.
- Development / design and maintenance of a credible pharmaceutical supplier database.
- Development of Standard Operating Procedures to guide the pharmaceutical procurement process as well as inventory management processes.
- Staff training on implementation of and adherence to Standard Operating Procedures.
- Development of management reports in pharmaceutical procurement and inventory management for strategic reviews and decision making.
- Approval of the ordering of required essential medicines and surgical supplies.
- Review of existing agreements with suppliers.
- Controlling of spend and building of a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
