**_Duties & Responsibilities_**

Mechanical repairs on forklift, truck, tractors, earthmoving machines, LDV's, small plant and generators.

Basic auto electrical repairs on forklift, truck, tractor LDV's, earthmoving machines, small plant, generators and trailers.

All type of services on forklift, truck, trailer, tractor and LDV's.

Running repairs on diesel and petrol vehicles, as well as trailers and all type of trolleys.

Repair work on all type of trolleys and trailers.

Administrating and regular reporting to management regarding breakdowns, repairs and services.

Ensure job cards are completed.

Ensure company breakdown vehicles are inspected.

Take initiative in handling minor repairs.

Charge, test and/or replace batteries.

Check tyre pressures and thread dept. of al vehicle tyres.

Assess condition of vehicles.

Ensure all tasks on checklists are done daily.

Ensure that work was done correctly and assist with mechanic assistant tasks.

Adhere to breakdown safety protocols.

Ensure driver of vehicle sign relevant checklist.

Report any major problems on vehicles to foreman.

Welding repairs on trolley frames and axles.

Panel beating and spray painting on forklift, truck, tractor and trailers.

Attend to breakdowns.

Spares collecting and ensure correct spares is obtained from certain suppliers.

Responsible for inhouse breakdowns and assessments.

Weekly toolbox check and report to foreman when tools are lost or missing.

Clean work station on a daily basis.

Engine recon when engineering is not needed.

Transmission valve body and pump recon when engineering is not needed.

Responsible for fiberglass work/repairs on certain vehicles.

Forklift rear axle recon when engineering is not needed.

Forklift hydraulic system and pumps re-seal.

Small plant repairs and services.

**_Desired Experience & Qualification_**

Matric

Completed Trade as Auto Electrician/Mechanic (beneficial)

5 years mechanical experience (essential)

Mechanical in forklift, truck and tractor

Basic auto electrical in forklift, truck and tractor

Welding and building/repair on body panels

Must be able to attend to breakdowns

Valid drivers license (Code 8) (essential)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Temp to perm

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Pretoria, Gauteng: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
