Laboratory Technician

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for a **Laboratory Technician - Production** to join the team in Rustenburg. This individual will be responsible for being a hands-on all-rounder and reliever in Sample Preparation, Fire Assay, Chrome WetChem and Shift Supervision Responsible for ensuring generation and production of analytical results to a high degree of precision and accuracy and ensuring that a cost effective and high-quality analytical service is provided to clients within stipulated turnaround times.

**DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES**

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

**Required Competencies**
- Good timekeeping and time management skills.
- Hands-on experience with office equipment (e.g. printers).
- Communication: Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Quality: ‘Right first time’ approach, completes work to a high standard, continually looking for improvements and strong problem-solvers, high level of attention to detail is key within this role.
- Handles challenges in a mature manner.
- Ability to work with mínimal supervision.
- Keeping the reception area clean and professional.

**Required Qualifications**
- Grade 12 (with Maths and Science)
- Diploma in Analytical Chemistry or other appropriate tertiary qualification will be an added advantage

**Required work experience**
- Minimum 2 years experience in a production analytical chemistry laboratory with proven track record of fire assay (lead collection and prill weighing), sample preparation, classical wet chemistry and evaluation and reporting of analytical results
