Glazier

The purpose of a Glazier’s role is to load, transport, install, and remove all kinds of frameless glass such as; Frameless Showers, - Balustrades, - Stacking doors, Mirrors, - Partitions, - Facades, shop fronts, displays, doors, and any other Frameless Glass product manufactured for or by the business.

Responsibilities include:

- Glass and hardware going to the site are loaded onto vehicles and tied securely to prevent damage, accidents, or incidents.
- All necessary tools, sundries, and cleaning materials are packed onto the vehicle according to the checklist provided. Drawings and installation specifications are studied to know the work requirements and details, including the size, type, and thickness of glass to be installed.
- Tools, equipment, and glass are loaded and off-loaded in such as way as to not cause any damage to the glass, company property, or the customers’ property.
- Customers are greeted in a warm and friendly manner and communicated with clarity and confidence to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Before any installation is embarked on, all designs are first checked and measured on-site. The design drawings must match the on-site measurements.
- Installations are done according to specifications.
- All installations are left clean and in a pristine condition.
- The site is kept clean, neat, and tidy after each installation, the site is left in the same or better state as when you arrived on-site
- The Tester tool is used before any installations are done to test if there are any water or electrical pipes running behind the wall.
- A written note is placed in the shower which communicates to the client that 24 hours is required for drying, before the shower can be used.
- Grinding of slots on site is to be done using the correct tools and dust-free.
- All glass is to be covered when grinding to avoid the burning of glass. (windows, doors, etc.)
- Covering of floors whilst grinding threaded bar. To avoid hot off cuts burning floors.
- All Beads and bars are to be pre-assembled in the warehouse and wrapped to protect glass and aluminum against scratching.
- Grinding of slots on site is to be done using the correct tools and dust-free.
- Liquid grout stock levels are to be monitored and the officer is to be informed of any stock requirements.
- Grouting of the bottom track to be neat and any excess grout residue to be removed.
- Protection tape is applied for the protection against plastering that is done by any subcontractors.
- Measuring and sizes of any aluminum cladding required to cover gaps.
- **The interior and exterior of vehicles are neat, clean, tidy, and presentable at all times.**:

- Vehicles are inspected monthly for tire wear and tear, windscreens, water tanks, and the overall condition of vehicles according to the checklist provided.
- Tools are checked daily to ensure all tools are accounted for and balanced back to the tool list supplied. A monthly check is conducted together with the office staff to ensure the same.
- All tools are maintained and kept clean and in good working order and excellent presentation at all times. Tools are air-blown and wiped with a wet cloth after every use and kept clean of fine dust/dust-free - grinders, vacuum cleaners etc.
- On the last Friday of every month, all tools are laid out for tool check, this includes checking for cleanliness, and stock levels, and inspection is done to determine if due for a service.
- The warehouse is kept neat, clean, and tidy at all times.
- Any maintenance requirements of lights, electrical, doors, etc are reported to the office without delay.
- All tools and machinery are packed in demarcated areas to ensure excellent storage and ease of access.
- All glass orders are securely packed in the demarcated areas.
