Network Operations Analyst

ROLE
As a Managed Service Provider, KHIPUs Network Operations Centre (NOC) plays a vital role in monitoring
clients mission critical network and IT infrastructure. Continuous performance and health monitoring of their
infrastructure is the first line of defence against disruptions and failure.
As a Network Operations Analyst you will play a crucial role from initial engagement with the customer,
understanding their requirements through to deploying monitoring solutions and proactively monitoring their IT
environments. You will need to be analytical, able to identify trends and potential issues before they become a
problem. When issues occur, you will be expected to investigate to identify the root cause.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Monitoring of customer networks using approved tools and systems
- Response and analysis of network monitoring alerts.
- Prioritize tickets in accordance with established guidelines.
- Collect and document all available data on potential and actual problems.
- Documentation of identified issues and draft detailed technical reports.
- Perform trend analysis to identify network performance baselines and identify when network
components fall outside expected values.
- Perform routine analysis of customer infrastructure monitored by KHIPU.
- Create scheduled and ad-hoc reports as required.
- Provide customers with technical support on the monitoring solutions and services delivered by KHIPU.
- Deployment and configuration of network monitoring solutions.
- Engage with customers to discuss, document and configure monitoring solution for agreed devices and
thresholds.
- Engage with colleagues across the company to ensure accuracy of information, records and processes
with regards to the monitoring solution and services.
- Complete regular training to keep up to date with approved products and solutions.
- Contribute to improving the Monitoring Service.
- Drive the expansion and maintenance of the Monitoring System.
- Become a Technical expert in the field of the Monitoring Service provided by KHIPU.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- Relevant industry qualifications e.g. Aruba, Cisco, Palo Alto, Microsoft, Linux, VMWare.
- Certifications/experience deploying and working with monitoring tools e.g. PRTG, Nagios, Cacti, Zabbix, Solar Winds.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience.
SKILLS & ATTRIBUTES
- A good working knowledge of networking.
- A working knowledge of servers/VMware would be an advantage.
- A good understanding of SNMP.
- An interest in technology and an appetite to develop and grow.
- Keenness and aptitude for working with a team and alone.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Excellent Telephone Manner.
- Effective communicator with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
- Good planning, multi-tasking, and organisational skills with attention to detail and ability to prioritise.
- Can-do attitude.
